An Energy Efficient Facelift: Modernizing a Local 56 Unit Multifamily Community
In March, Evergreen began a 56 unit renovation project of the Fountain Court Apartments located in Charlottesville, Virginia (Rio Road), for managing firm, Alcova Properties. Earlier this year, Evergreen completed a smaller four unit renovation at another Alcova managed property, Inglewood Square Apartments (Hydraulic Rd). Some of the finished interior photos provided in the gallery, are photos of that earlier renovation, and are representative of the end product and level of finish planned for Fountain Court.
Each of the 56 units is undergoing a high efficiency electric heat pump conversion from natural gas furnaces, full kitchen and bath renovations, new interior trim and door packages, as well as new flooring. The kitchen floorplans were opened up to provide a more updated and modern feel. Units will be upgraded to 200 amp service and plumbing retrofit, enabling the introduction of washer & dryers into each unit. Apartments will also be upgraded to Energy Star appliances and windows to further reduce the project’s overall energy footprint.
