Undertaking the construction of a home is a collaborative process, one in which communication and documentation is paramount during all phases of the project. We want our clients to feel empowered; confident in their understanding of not only the technical details in the construction of their home, but also the workings of the construction schedule, and cost estimation. In a nutshell, we want our clients to feel that they play aa integral part in the entire process. In the seeking of this end, we ensure that the construction schedule encourages this collaborative process, through regular scheduled site visits and review with our clients, in addition to weekly progress reports via phone and email.

A Prepared Plan or a concept drawing

With the ever increasing availability of architectural plans for sale on the internet, an increasing number of customers are finding that there are more then enough plans out there to choose from. Today, there are literally thousands of construction plans available on the web. The good news is, its cheaper too, not to mention the savings in time, by avoiding the often lengthy process necessary in bringing a design concept to a finish plan. With that said however, we understand that there are still some of our clients that will choose to pursue that ‘dream plan’ they have been daydreaming about for years…reflecting the uniqueness only possible in a true custom plan. Many of our ‘Custom Clients’ will pursue the services of a local architect of their choosing. This is another viable route, and is quite suitable for many clients. However, for some, knowing the estimated cost of such a ‘dream home’ is quite difficult to estimate without a plan from which to perform even basic material and labor estimate take-offs. This is one of the big road blocks for individuals contemplating the undertaking of a true ‘custom home’.

For these clients, we offer our ‘Design Feasibility Program’ in which to not only pursue the initial concept drawings, but also the project cost estimation made possible by a working architectural drawing comprised of the floor plan, building elevation, and material specifications. With this program, customers place an initial deposit (later credited toward the cost of the home) that covers the cost of drafting the concept plan, site review and building layout for the construction site, necessary to provide the client a finished contract budget. Again, it is about empowering our clients.

Once the initial budget is approved for the project, the plan can then be taken to full architectural plans suitable for construction by one of our architectural firm partners. This process is most efficient in reducing some of the initial costs associated with custom home design, by completing much of the design ‘legwork’ prior to submitting the concept drawings to an architect.

We haven’t had a better experience in building or remodeling. Having built three homes previously, we believe this experience with Evergreen was by far the best... Their honesty, integrity, and willingness to please the customer are what we admire.
