A Private In-Law Get Away… Or An Oasis for Visiting Friends

Our clients had acquired a home built in the late 1950’s, with the intention of changing it to better fit the needs of their family.  We needed to attach a ’self sufficient’ in-law suite complete with kitchenette, full bath, laundry facilities, an office, and separate living area.  However, we needed a careful approach to increasing the square footage of a home that had already been added onto in two previous projects.

With the help of York Residential Design, a two story addition was designed that preserved not only the architectural style of the home, but actually helped to visually balance the home’s exterior as well.  The ‘In-law’ apartment encompasses the 1st floor of the addition, with the second floor providing additional laundry facilities and two bedrooms that share access to a new full bath.


We haven’t had a better experience in building or remodeling. Having built three homes previously, we believe this experience with Evergreen was by far the best... Their honesty, integrity, and willingness to please the customer are what we admire.
