An Ideal Location Made Into An Ideal Home
Our clients found the perfect spot in an ideal neighborhood. Now they just needed the house to be more energy efficient, and to better serve their needs as a growing family. Our first task was to open up the floor plan to enable it to reflect a more modern and spacious feel. Through thoughtful design collaboration with our clients, we were able to determine an ideal kitchen, dining, and office floorplan scheme that was workable given the floorplan constraints.
Evergreen provided a detailed cost estimate with corresponding project schedule. A steel beam was incorporated to open the floorplan by abandoning a load bearing wall adjacent to the old kitchen location. Two second floor bedrooms were renovated, where we then created a new utility/mechanical room to run updated ductwork and HVAC equipment. An additional stairwell access was built to provide a drier exterior egress to the finished basement. Much of the home’s insulation was updated by using a combo application of closed cell foam and fiberglass insulation, as well as electrical service upgrade. After a full renovation and equipment refurbishment, the transformation is astounding.
